montessori: motor skill

Psychomotoricity is the relationship between the psychic activity of the mind and the capacity of movement or motor function of the body. It is divided into two types: fine and gross. Fine motor is the control of muscles, bones and nerves to produce movements that require skill, dexterity and precision.

Among the activities that can be carried out for the development of fine motor skills are: tearing, transferring, walking, rescuing objects, painting, among others. Let's explain some of them to you:

On the other hand, gross motor is the ability where he manages to move the muscles of his body harmoniously, maintain balance, acquire agility, strength and speed in his movements.

Among the activities that can be done to develop gross motor skills are: running, jumping, cycling, swimming, climbing stairs, climbing, crawling, among others.

Let's make some roads!

In this activity, let's draw different roads. First, let's indicate the child to follow the line with the index finger from left to right. Afterwards, indicate that he should carry some small object (lentil, a cane, etc) to the end of the path.

Note: Remember to present the exercise as a game, make up a story, so they don't find it boring.

* It is performed from left to right as it helps train the brain for reading and writing.

Let's rescue!

Using a container and tweezers, fill the container with water and immerse some small objects such as hair bands. The child must "rescue" the rubber bands with the tweezers.

So let your kids, run, jump and practice these activities! Beyond "games" for children, they help their development.

montessori: phonological awareness

It is defined as the ability to manipulate language's sounds.  The phonological awareness must be learned or mistakes can occur such as as changing letters, reading and making up words, etc. The ideal age for developing phonological awareness is between 3 and 7 years old through interactive activities.

Instead of giving him the phone or putting in a movie, practice with them. We can motivate the little ones by saying: Help me look for words that start with -AP- remember the eye contact, give them clues like: it is red and you like to eat it APPLE. As it is a new activity, they will feel insecurity.

During walks on the street, in the car or in the shopping centre you can say prayers like
The mother is very ha... -What the child responds PPY-

The car is r... -What the child responds ED-

Everything in our environment helps to develop phonological awareness! Remember that complexity varies depending on the skill, maturity and age of the child.

montessori: mathematical thinking

Before acquiring mathematical knowledge, children should acquire the following pre-mathematical skills: comparison, classification, one-to-one correspondence, temporality, seriations, spatial notions, counting and distinguishing symbols. Through the Montessori method we can start from simple activities such as putting together lottery pieces to create the notion of what comes before and what comes after.

In addition, we can practice classifying with elements we have at home. Classification generates mental relationships through which children group objects according to similarities and differences, these relationships serve as a basis for building logical-mathematical thinking for the youngest (this can be started from 12 months) and when they are older, start with counting through games and songs.

Remember that children learn through the game! Let's not make mathematics a headache for them.

montessori: TRANSFER

The Montessori method is a way of education based on stimulation and respect. Nowadays, it is very popular among parents and schools as a teaching method.

Through this method we can help children from an early age to develop: mathematical thinking, motricity and phonological awareness. This accompanied by a lot of sensory play and heuristic play will help us to develop better children of tomorrow...

We will provide more information on this later... UNTIL NEXT TIME!

Among the most common exercises is the transfer, which focuses on passing objects from one container to another (with the hand, spoons, tweezers, etc). This promotes visual-motor coordination, wrist rotation and concentration.

The complexity varies depending on the child's age and ability, and can be transferred with liquids as well.
